Effective date: October 1, 2025
Racine Tire & Auto LLC (“Racine Tire & Auto,” “we,” “our” or “us”) fully respects your privacy rights. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information obtained through our website at https://lightslategray-goldfish-331392.hostingersite.com (the “Site”), our appointment and quote request forms, and other interactions with customers and visitors. Racine Tire & Auto is a family‑owned auto repair and discount tire business located at 5048 Douglas Ave, Racine, Wisconsin 53402. The company has been serving the Racine community since 1978. Generations of family have managed the business and, as of August 2024, long‑time team member Nathan Mohr took ownership. We specialize in comprehensive auto repair, tire sales, and specialty services, and are recognized for our prompt service and fair pricing. This Policy applies to information we collect from residents of the United States and any visitors to our Site.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect when you:
- Visit or interact with our Site, including any subpages;
- Contact us by phone, e‑mail or text message;
- Submit personal information through an online form (for example, to request a quote or schedule an appointment); or
- Interact with us on third‑party platforms that link to or from our Site (e.g., our Facebook page or Yelp reviews).
This Policy does not apply to personal information collected by third parties over which we have no control. For example, the Site includes links to social media (Facebook and Yelp) and an embedded Google Maps location. Those services have their own privacy practices. Please review their policies for more information.
2. Information we collect
We collect personal information directly from you and automatically when you interact with the Site.
2.1) Information you provide to us
When you request a quote, schedule an appointment or otherwise contact us, we may collect:
- Contact details such as your name, phone number, e‑mail address, mailing address and preferred contact method.
- Vehicle information such as the make, model, year and current condition of your vehicle, which helps us prepare accurate quotes and schedule service.
- Service requests and messages that you provide in open text fields, including descriptions of automotive issues, preferred appointment dates and any questions or comments.
- Payment information if you purchase tires or other services from us. We accept payment in person. We do not collect or store credit card numbers on the Site.
- Communication records such as voicemails, emails or text messages, which we maintain to assist you and to improve our services.
Please do not provide sensitive personal information (e.g., Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, credit card numbers, financial account information, medical information, or details about race or ethnicity, religious beliefs or other sensitive data). Racine Tire & Auto does not require such information to provide our automotive services.
2.2) Information automatically collected
When you visit the Site, our servers and certain third‑party service providers automatically collect information about your device and browsing activity. This information may include:
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, the pages you visit, the referring page, time of visit and the duration of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies: The Site uses cookies to enable core functionality (e.g., session management) and to improve the user experience. We also use analytics services (such as Google Analytics through WordPress’s Site Kit plugin) to generate aggregate statistics about site traffic. These analytics providers may set cookies and collect information about your interaction with the Site. You can control the use of cookies through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site.
- Embedded content: Our Site uses third‑party embeds, such as Google Maps, to display our location. When you view the embedded map, Google may collect your IP address, device information and other data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
2.3) Information from third‑party sources
We may receive limited information from third‑party platforms if you interact with our business profiles on social media networks like Facebook or Yelp. Such information may include your username, public profile information and any content you choose to share with us. These platforms control what information we receive; please review their privacy settings to manage what is shared.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information for legitimate business purposes, including:
- Providing services: To schedule appointments, provide quotes, perform automotive repairs, deliver tires, and communicate with you about your service. For example, Racine Tire & Auto is known for providing fast, reliable auto repair and tire services, and we use your information to continue this level of service.
- Customer support: To respond to inquiries, resolve issues, provide customer service, and maintain records of our communications.
- Business operations: To analyze and improve our services and the Site, enhance the safety and security of our systems, test new features and conduct statistical analyses. Because the State of Wisconsin has not yet enacted a comprehensive data privacy law, we nevertheless strive to adopt best practices consistent with consumer privacy laws in other states.
- Marketing and promotions: To send you promotional messages about our services, specials, or discount tire offers if you have opted in to receive such communications. You may opt out at any time.
- Legal compliance and protection: To comply with applicable laws and regulations, enforce our policies, protect our rights or those of our customers, and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
We process personal information on the basis of your consent (when you request a quote or sign up for marketing messages), the performance of a contract (to provide services), compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business.
4. How we share personal information
Racine Tire & Auto does not sell your personal information. We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers and vendors: We engage trusted third‑party companies and contractors (like Fourth Coast Web and WordPress engineer Andrew Hickman) to perform functions on our behalf, such as website hosting, analytics, email services, appointment scheduling software, and payment processing. These providers only have access to the personal information necessary to perform their functions, and are contractually obligated to protect it.
- Business transfers: If Racine Tire & Auto undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, sale of assets or acquisition, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose personal information if required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders or subpoenas, or to respond to lawful requests by public authorities.
- Protection of rights: We may disclose information to protect our rights, property or safety or that of our employees, customers or the public, including to enforce our agreements and policies, or in an emergency.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
5. Cookies, analytics and tracking technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help us operate and analyze the Site. Racine Tire & Auto uses the following categories of cookies:
- Essential cookies: Necessary to provide basic website features such as page navigation and access to secure areas. Without these cookies, the Site would not function properly.
- Analytics cookies: Used to understand how visitors interact with the Site. We use WordPress Site Kit, Smartlook, and similar services to collect aggregated statistics about page views, traffic sources and visitor behavior. These cookies help us improve site performance and tailor content.
- Functional cookies: Remember your preferences (e.g., language, region) or information you enter in forms.
- Third‑party cookies: Certain third‑party services integrated into our Site, such as Google Maps, embedded videos, and social‑media plugins, may set cookies that track usage. We do not control these cookies; please consult the respective third parties’ privacy policies.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to delete existing cookies, reject new cookies or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Refer to your browser’s help documentation for instructions. Please note that disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Site.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We retain contact and vehicle information while you are an active customer and for a reasonable period thereafter to maintain records of service history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer required, we securely destroy or anonymize it.
7. Data security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include secure server connections (HTTPS), firewalls, access controls, and staff training. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding personal information. While Wisconsin currently has no comprehensive data privacy law, we respect the rights recognized under other U.S. privacy laws and European data protection regulations. Subject to such laws, you may:
- Access and update your personal information. You may request details about the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct or update it.
- Delete your personal information. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (for example, when we are legally required to retain records).
- Opt out of marketing communications. If you no longer wish to receive promotional emails, you can unsubscribe using the link in the message or contact us at the address below. Please note that we may still send non‑promotional communications relating to your service appointments.
